Class Description

What can you do between summer fishing and ice fishing? How about carving a custom fishing lure? You can learn basic power carving skills while carving a beautiful, functional jointed plug in this one-day class. Starting with a basswood blank and an acrylic piece for the diving plate, Cam will expertly guide you through all of the steps to carve, sand, assemble, paint and seal your choice of lure from several available patterns. You will learn how to use rotary tools to shape and sand the lure as well as how to make rigging from stainless steel wire and put it all together in a lure that is beautiful in and out of the water. A good number of painting options will be offered as well.

This is a great class for beginners and experienced carvers alike. Class runs from 9:00 am to 5:30 pm. There will be a 45-minute break for lunch - participants can bring a bag lunch or there are several fast-food options in Martensville (A&W, McDonalds, Subway, Tim Horton's, DQ, Taco Time, etc.) if you prefer. Coffee and tea will be provided, but please bring your own mug.
